How to Prepare for your First Brazilian Wax Appointment
Are you ready to take the leap and get your first Brazilian wax?
I know there can be a lot of emotions and questions running through your mind on how to prepare and what to expect. I get it, I was there at one point in time. From the beginning of the appointment I will walk you through everything and answer all of your questions.
Before coming in for your wax appointment we want to make sure your hair is long enough. In order for the wax to catch the hair it needs to be 1/4 inch or the length of a grain of rice. Typically you will need 2-3 weeks of hair growth. It is also important that you exfoliate at least 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. Exfoliating removes the dead skin sitting on the surface. This can be done with a body brush, scrub, exfoliating mitts, ingrown hair serum, etc. Also avoid tanning or sun exposure 72 hours prior.
Now on to things to avoid prior to your appointment and what you can do to ease the pain. Avoid caffeine the day of, this can cause you to be up to 50% more sensitive. Save the Starbucks as a treat post wax. You want to take a ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment. This can help ease the pain and also help with soreness and redness which is totally normal. I also have an option to add-on numbing spray, so if you are interested please make sure you select this option when booking.
Just remember the results are amazing and totally worth it! The pain is short lived and by the time you are getting off the bed you will be fine…I promise! Hope to see you soon and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
